Title Author Owner Notes
Embedded Systems: World Class Designs Jack Ganssle, editor Rod Frey Many subjects from stepper motors to DSP design, written by practicing engineers.
Electric Motors and Drives: Fundamentals, Types and Applications Austin Hughes Rod Frey Excellent non-mathematical introduction to motors and motor control. DC and AC.
Electric Motors and Control Techniques Irving M. Gottlieb Rod Frey Good book on controllers especially, but pretty analogue in its approach.
Microelectronics, an Integrated Approach Roger T. Howe, Charles G. Sodini Rod Frey Textbook from my EE degree (1997), so pretty dated, but a good reference for the fundamentals.
Practical Electronics for Inventors Paul Scherz Rod Frey Lots of practical circuits - kind of a recipe book, but as much theory and explanation of the circuits as you care to read.
